Mar 26th Monthly Breakfast Highlights: Dr. Lisa Dunne

·

San Diego Christian Chamber of Commerce members were able to feel a little more at home this past Thursday morning, as we returned to our familiar space for this month’s Breakfast & Speaker Series Event.

The Networking Hour was in full-caffeinated mode as 7am rolled around the dial. Anyone who has walked through the glass doors and into the lobby just after opening hour knows the feeling.

Possibilities. Opportunities.

Breakfast & Beyond

Networking usually flows seamlessly from the lobby to the breakfast tables. Reliably upbeat Chamber CEO, Eve Nasby never fails to prime the gathering with anticipation when she takes to the podium to get the speaking portion of the event started.

Andrew Hayes

On this morning, Andrew Hayes of Lakeside Union School District joined her shortly on stage to lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. He followed with a short informative update on the areas of education and parental interest that he continues to advocate for in his circles of influence.

New Members

San Diego’s Christian Chamber of Commerce is growing fast! Up next, we were able to welcome the newest members of the family.

Spotlight on Nonprofits

Rehema for Kids is our Nonprofit of the Month, and organization leader, Estha Trouw Madeira was introduced alongside some team members. Brian Carr of Favor International also shared a few words regarding the upcoming Nonprofit Cohort.

Upcoming Events

Somewhere in there, just prior to our keynote presentation, Eve was able to squeeze in a few othr reminders of upcoming events. Most notably, Marketplace Fellowships and a uniquely San Diego “Work at the Beach” day! Be sure to check our calendar for more details.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Lisa Dunne

Dr. Lisa Dunne’s credentials and accomplishments aptly preceded her presentation. Taking the stage, she smoothly transitioned into a quick summary that highlighted her most notable personal and professional priorities.

Then the truth bombs began to drop.

One slide after another, Dr. Dunne demonstrated her passion and deep knowledge of the broken and dangerous educational system in our country that is largely contributing to the dysfunctional spillover into the marketplace. She proceeded to lay out the growing generational social & communication gap that families and organizations everywhere are having to navigate. In highlighting the A.I. reality upon us, Dr. Dunne is waving the proverbial yellow flag of caution to any who would look up from the blueish glow of our screens to listen.

But hers was not a message of defeat and discouragement.
Her objective was not to blackpill the audience into despair.

Dr. Lisa Dunne came to rally spirits and stir souls to action. Hers was a call to fight the coming tide with scriptural solutions that work.

This was a roomful of Christian business people and entrepreneurs. Full of hope, uniquely designed and created to solve problems. That is what took place during moments of interactive discussion.

Challenge received.

In Closing

The customary closing activities of raffle draws, last bits of information, and a closing prayer by Estha Trouw Madeira brought yet another memorable morning to a close.

But for most of us there, the day was just beginning.

The next breakfast is scheduled for April 30th. Tickets are already available, so reserve your spot early! Subscribe to the calendar or check the website often for the latest event listings.
